During operation, the pump facilitates reverse circulation. Under atmospheric pressure, circulating fluid flows from the sedimentation tank to the well bottom through the annular gap. The rotary table drives the drill pipe and bit for drilling. The mud pump's suction creates negative pressure, drawing debris mud into the drill pipe's inner cavity and discharging it into the sedimentation tank. The settled circulating fluid continues flowing into the well, completing the reverse circulation drilling process.
